Dave Cantin Group raises $250K for children’s cancer research
The Dave Cantin Group’s nonprofit partnership DCG Giving raised more than $250,000 for pediatric cancer research during its first fundraising event of the year: a dinner party at last month’s NADA Show in Dallas featuring heavyweight champion boxer Mike Tyson.
Part of the event, which was held at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, an auction of boxing gloves autographed by Tyson.
Proceeds from the event are supporting Children’s Oncology Group, the company said. DCG Giving is designed to support research and treatment for children with cancer throughout the country.
“Only about 4% of all federal funding for cancer research is spent on projects involving children’s cancers-that is simply not enough,” DCG chairman and CEO Dave Cantin said in a news release.
“In 2022, DCG Giving donated more than half a million dollars to child and adolescent cancer research and treatment efforts, and we are excited to continue our efforts with more donations and events in 2023,” he said.
