Dollar Thrifty Adds New Retail Stores, More
TULSA, Okla. — Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group announced Friday that its Thrifty Car Sales operation has opened several new stores that expands its presence in Washington, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio and Florida.
Specifically, these new locations include stores in Pasco, Wash.; Hollidaysburg, Pa.; Coopersburg, Pa.; Bowling Green, Ky.; Hurricane, W.Va.; Lexington, Ky.; New Carlisle, Ohio and Pensacola, Fla.
Overall, Dollar Thrifty said that so far this year, it has launched 15 new franchise locations and two corporate locations.
"We are very pleased with our current expansion efforts, which are expected to augment our organic growth from an improving economy," stated Scott Thompson, president and chief executive officer.
"The added franchise locations expand our value brands in a capital efficient way while our new corporate-owned locations represent long-term revenue growth opportunities," he added.
Looking at the two new corporate locations, they "serve two of the top 100 airports in the U.S."
There is an opening scheduled for Aug. 1 that will re-establish the Dollar and Thrifty brands in Des Moines, Iowa. Also, the Dollar corporate location in Minneapolis had the Thrifty brand added to it.
Moving over to the franchise expansions, these include new Dollar Rent A Car facilities in Savannah, Ga.; Panama City Beach, Fla. and Chattanooga, Tenn.
Also on the franchise side, there are new Thrifty Car Rental locations in Panama City Beach and Chattanooga, as well.
Finally, the company's corporate location in Little Rock, Ark., has been franchised. The franchise includes both the Dollar and Thrifty brands.
