SAN DIEGO -

Jeff Haynes, vice president and national remarketing manager at BBVA Compass, described what intrigues him about the repossession, recovery and remarketing industries. Haynes pointed to the rate at which technology continues to allow companies to become smarter and more efficient.

Technology doesn't just interest Haynes; it’s what separated him from a group of qualified candidates who were in the mix to be the inaugural winner of the Re3 Executive of the Year Award, presented by Consolidated Asset Recovery Systems.

“It came as a total surprise,” Haynes said of being chosen. “We are not the biggest auto lender in the market, but we do strive to be the best. So much credit goes to the excellent team I am privileged to work with on a daily basis.

“Anytime you receive recognition for the job you do, it is a great honor; even more so when you are recognized by your peers in the industry. I am very humbled to receive this award,” he continued.

Haynes will receive his award today during the Re3 Conference, which is sponsored by Digital Recognition Network and Primeritus Financial Services. The Re3 Executive of the Year Award will be handed to Haynes by Steve Norwood, president and chief executive officer of Consolidated Asset Recovery Systems.

“We have worked with Jeff and BBVA Compass since 2007. Jeff has been instrumental in helping Consolidated Asset Recovery Systems understand the intricacies of the repossession and remarketing business,” Norwood said

“We have relied on his many years of experience in banking and collections to guide us in refining our software and service to make sure we are delivering the best service in the market,” Norwood continued.

“His knowledge and experience in collections, repossessions and remarketing sets him apart as one of the leaders in this industry. We are honored to recognize Jeff’s contribution to this market,” Norwood went on to say.

The publisher of Auto Remarketing and SubPrime Auto Finance News and Used Car Week chair Bill Zadeits offered a similar reaction when Haynes was selected.

“Jeff Haynes represents exactly what a highly skilled executive in the repossession, recovery and remarketing industries should be,” Zadeits said. “We were excited to see Jeff nominated and chosen for this award, and we’re honored that our first-ever Re3 Executive of the Year Award is going to such an outstanding individual.”

Along with technology, Haynes credited the teamwork at BBVA Compass for having a successful repossession and recovery department.

“As we innovate, we are able to expand our internal capacity without increasing cost,” Haynes said. “We work with great partners who help us reach our internal goals with the services and technology they provide. As part of a global organization, we have access to industry best practices from across the world.

“We have a best-in-class collections and recovery department that prides itself in reducing losses for the bank and our customers,” he went on to say. “We work very hard to work with our customers and to prevent the repossession process.

“We are always focused on the customer. Also, working for a world class organization that is positioned for growth in all areas of banking while investing in its employees, is also very motivating.”
