GMI Launches Program for Independent Dealers
Independent auto dealers have new insurance options for both the used-car and auto rental/loaner operations.
GMI Insurance announced on Tuesday the launch of a new program that focuses on the following:
—Small- to medium-size, non-franchised auto dealers
—Incidental new-vehicle franchise operations
—Incidental sales of trucks, RVs, boats and motorcycles.
With this program, GMI said it can provide insurance not only for used-car operations, but also for auto rental/loaner operations.
The program’s ISO-based coverages include garage liability, general liability (lessors risk), property, business income and extra expense, inland marine, dealers open lot/garage keepers legal liability, false pretense, and all forms of dealer error and omission coverages.
Some states do not yet offer the program; they are Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, North Dakota, New Hampshire and Virginia.
GMI is the exclusive nationwide underwriting manager for this program, which is presently offered through Liberty International Underwriters, a member of Liberty Mutual Group.
