AVOCA, Pa. — Service contract provider GWC revealed recently that it is now offering coverage on medium-duty trucks.

The Medium Duty Truck Protection Plan is offered on trucks whose gross vehicle weight rating is 19,500 pounds or less. Various vehicles are included in the plan, including everything from small dump trucks to refrigerated and box trucks.

GWC uses weight, mileage and fuel type in calculating the costs.

"Medium duty trucks represent a significant growth segment in the industry," said Rob Glander, president and chief executive officer of GWC.

"We set out to provide a strong protection plan, backed by GWC's unparalleled service level, to help our dealers meet the needs of this expanding customer base," he added.

The company said that fleet managers, commercial truck managers and independent dealers can now offer "peace of mind" when they sell commercial businesses work vehicles thanks to the new offering.

"And in maintaining GWC's commitment to provide its dealer partners with programs to maximize the profitability of their dealership, the Medium Duty Truck Protection Plan qualifies for the same participation program benefits offered with the company's Vehicle Protection Plans," officials noted.
