Hertz adds former Carrier executive as EVP and COO
Rental car giant Hertz has named Justin Keppy as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Keppy, who will assume the role effective Nov. 15, will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the company’s global business.
Keppy joins Hertz from Carrier Corp., serving most recently as president of North America residential and light commercial HVAC, Carrier’s largest business. He took over that position at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and during that difficult period, Hertz said in a news release, the division gained market share and “drove exceptional topline growth while significantly increasing profitability.”
Hertz CEO and chairman Stephen Scherr said Keppy is “a seasoned leader with more than 25 years of operational experience in both the private sector and the U.S. military.
“He is passionate about building high-performing teams and strong customer relationships to help drive revenue and operational efficiencies,” Scherr said. “I look forward to working closely with him as he leads the day-to-day execution of our business.”
Keppy previously served in a variety of senior roles within UTC Aerospace Systems, as well as vice president of manufacturing for Hamilton Sundstrand and operations leadership positions with Shawmut Corp., Ford Motor Co. and the U.S. Army.
“I’m thrilled to join Hertz at such a transformational time for the company and for the broader travel and automotive industries,” Keppy said.
