LOS ANGELES -

After more than 50 vehicles debuted at the recent Los Angeles Auto show, Kelly Blue Book’s staff highlighted a few units that caught their eye.

Taking in all the lastest and greatest in automotive technology and design, KBB’s Micah Muzio offered his “wrap-up of what was hot” from the new lineups.

According to the editor, the following units from the first auto show of the 2012 season stood out:

—2013 Infiniti JX

"As a fresh alternative to the many flavors of vanilla currently dominating the luxury crossover segment, the stylish Infiniti JX is designed to excel in the areas that luxury crossover buyers desire most — interior flexibility and roominess, safety and advanced hospitality features,” Muzio explained. “The JX offers real 3-row utility, plus all the premium features, performance and innovations that Infiniti is known for worldwide. “

—2012 Hyundai Azera

“This flagship Fluidic Sculpture sedan also features a more powerful Lambda II 3.3-liter GDI engine, six-speed transmission, best-in-class combined fuel economy of 23 miles per gallon and a wide range of advanced safety equipment,” Muzio noted.

“The 2012 Azera represents a modern approach to the traditional large sedan segment by using an advanced powertrain, emotional design and luxury features offered with Hyundai’s strong value proposition,” he continued.

—2013 Lincoln MKS

"Better handling, increased power, improved fuel efficiency, additional standard equipment, more refinement and new technologies that help drivers reduce accident risks provide luxury customers with important new reasons to consider Lincoln and its flagship sedan, the new MKS.  The full-size Lincoln MKS sports an updated, sleeker style for 2013 that headlines a range of improvements that match or exceed more expensive luxury-class contenders,” Muzio shared.

—Subaru BRZ Concept STI

"Subaru’s concept car represents the next step in lightweight performance sports cars combined with the race-bred tuning of Subaru Technica International (STI). The first BRZ concept car to be shown with bodywork, the Concept STI strongly hints at the styling of the production BRZ and features unique STI performance features,” Muzio said of the Japanese automaker’s new concept car.

“The first RWD Subaru, the production Subaru BRZ will begin production in spring 2012 as the only mass-produced front-engine, Boxer engine rear-wheel drive sports car in the world,” he added.
