AURBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group revealed earlier this week that Robert Liberatore has returned to the automaker as an interim adviser to chief executive officer Sergio Marchionne.
The manufacturer is asking Liberatore to provide guidance to the company on external affairs issues.
Liberatore originally joined Chrysler back in 1985 after working on Capitol Hill for 10 years, including four years as staff director for Sen. Robert Byrd.
Liberatore then was elected an officer of Chrysler in 1993 when he held the position of vice president, Washington affairs.
Liberatore retired as group vice president, global external affairs and public policy for DaimlerChrysler Corp. in 2007.
