ATLANTA -

Manheim has been recognized as a 2012 Best Place to Work in Information Technology by International Data Group’s Computerworld publication, which ranked the company No. 71 on its list of 100 best organizations “that challenge their IT staffs to drive innovation, while providing employees with great benefits and compensation.”

The magazine pulls the list together from a questionnaire that examines how companies perform in such areas as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention.

Computerworld also thoroughly surveys IT workers and uses their input as a significant factor in ranking the firms.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized as a great place to work,” said Lilicia Bailey, senior vice president and chief people officer at Manheim. “We work hard to deliver the types of programs that employees both value and appreciate. In addition, we value our long history of innovation and collaboration – this has fostered a competitive spirit and has resulted in lots of great ideas and innovations for our organization.”

Bailey added: “We believe that fostering open and honest communication is at the core of our company’s long-term success.”

Topping the list was USAA, followed by CareerBuilder, Commonwealth Financial Network and General Mills Inc., respectively. Rounding out the top five was Quicken Loans Inc.

“The organizations on this year’s Best Places to Work in IT list consistently seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits,” said Scot Finnie, editor-in-chief of Computerworld.

“Many of these organizations have spent years building top-notch IT workplaces, and we applaud the amazing work they’ve done to sustain dynamic environments where IT professionals can work with the latest technologies and play a key role in business-critical projects,” he noted.
