Mike Hockett Says ABC is Seeing Volumes Climb Year-Over-Year
Despite the declining trend in the wholesale industry, Auction Broadcasting Co.’s chief executive officer revealed to Auto Remarketing that his group’s auctions are seeing consistent year-over-year volume growth.
Talking in percentages, Mike Hockett reported total units sold are up 17.5 percent year-over-year, with most of the growth coming from dealer consignments — up 26.5 percent year-over-year. This is compared to commercial accounts, which are down just 0.07 percent year-over-year, according to ABC.
Hockett told Auto Remarketing, “Our growth is a true testament to all of the ABC family of auction’s firm commitment to embrace our philosophy, ‘An auction is only as good as its people.’"
“Our belief is that car people do business with car people and that a servant’s heart is imperative to any business, but especially the auction business,” he continued. “In today’s business environment, not only do dealers have a distinct personality that we enjoy and embrace, but they also have diverse inventories. Most dealers are handling older vehicles with higher mileage. We understand the needs of each.”
Matthew Yoo, director of corporate accounts, added, “We have the right people implementing, executing and delivering results here at ABC. Buyers are enjoying sourcing of the right vehicles to showcase on their lots; sellers are enjoying the robust competitive bidding while maximizing the price point. Our commitment to excellence in customer service is second to none. We are firing on all cylinders.”
