ARLINGTON, Texas -

The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association announced recently that two companies have signed on as new partners. Recently joining NIADA are Portfolio General Management Group and First Extended/Resource Automotive.

Together these companies will offer profits solutions for NIADA dealers selling vehicle service contracts and other ownership protection products like GAP, anti-theft and appearance protection.

Thanks to this partnership, dealers can not only benefit from VSC profits but also enjoy the profits spurred by income from premiums and investments.

“We see no reason why NIADA dealers should not have the same profit opportunities that franchised dealers have enjoyed for years,” stated Portfolio president Steve Burke. “Portfolio’s philosophy of 100 percent ownership by the dealer means that they can build a new personal wealth asset from activities already taking place in their dealerships. We joined NIADA to help its dealers take advantage of this opportunity.”

Patrick Donahue, executive vice president of First Extended/Resource Automotive, offered his input, as well. He shared: “We are looking forward to working with Portfolio’s agents to help NIADA dealers choose the best option in a dealer-owned program.

“Our First Extended Service Corp. and Resource Dealer Group have worked hand-in-hand with Portfolio for over two decades as allies in the effort to give the dealer every available benefit from being in this business,” Donahue added.

Offering some dealers input, Jeffrey Braatz, NIADA’s 2009 National Quality Dealer of the Year, offered high praise and recommendation for Portfolio.

“Portfolio is amazing. Five years ago I didn’t think such a program could be true to its promise. Now, I not only have a personal asset to take care of my family’s future, but one that helps me take care of my customers,” he shared. “And, Portfolio’s service to my dealership and my reinsurance company could not be better. Their knowledge and professionalism makes it easy to do what I love … selling quality vehicles to wonderful customers.”

Finally, NIADA chief executive officer Michael Linn noted: “NIADA is pleased to have these fine companies partner with the association. They are industry leaders and have been serving automotive dealers for years. They will provide an excellent profit center for our members and we look forward to working with their teams.”
