Recognizing that dealers are currently facing significant challenges in sourcing inventory in the pre-owned marketplace, both the National Remarketing Conference and the CPO Forum will be focusing on the topic, bringing together top dealers from throughout the country to discuss their strategies and best practices for finding the right cars.

The CPO Forum will put the spotlight on tips and tools for sourcing pre-owned inventory, specifically certified inventory. A session titled “What it Takes to be the Very Best” will bring together some of the superstars of the retail CPO world to share some of the key strategies and best practices that got them to where they are today. Inventory sourcing and inventory management will be key to the discussion, which will include:

• Brian Benstock, GM/partner, Paragon Honda/Paragon Acura
• Bob Andersen, corporate used car director, Bergstrom Automotive Group
• Chad Lemieux, corporate used car director, CAR (Conant Automotive Retail) Group
• Chris Little, director of variable operations, Hendrick Automotive Group

In addition, the National Remarketing Conference will feature a session titled “Creative, Successful Techniques and Strategies to Source Pre-Owned Inventory in a Crazy Market.” The session will be a panel discussion and will include Ed Curry, Asbury Automotive’s corporate used car director; Danny Papakalos, AutoNation’s corporate used vehicle director; and many other top dealers who will offer practical information to help dealers meet the challenges they are facing in sourcing quality inventory.

A second panel discussion at the NRC will focus specifically on the certified pre-owned industry and will highlight the tools for sourcing inventory and maximizing returns in that market. The session will feature top CPO executives from Toyota, Mazda, Volvo and other manufacturers as well as some of the nation’s top CPO dealers, including Chad Lemieux, corporate used car director for the Conant Automotive Retail Group.

The 2011 CPO Forum and the 2011 National Remarketing Conference are two of the three conferences that constitute Auto Remarketing’s Used Car Week, a weeklong event that also includes the brand-new Re3 (Recovery, Repossession and Remarketing) Conference.
