BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. — For the second time in just over a month, Penske Automotive Group has opened a new Mini store in the group's Western region, as it unveiled a 17,500-square-foot facility in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday.

Mini of Austin's debut comes just five weeks after Penske opened Mini of Tempe to serve the Phoenix area on March 23.

"We are thrilled with the opportunity to expand our presence with Mini in Austin," shard George Brochick, executive vice president for Penske's Western region.

"This dealership, and the added service capacity it provides, will allow us to better serve our Mini customers and help us expand the MINI brand in this growing market," he added.

The new dealership — which is located on 2.5 acres next to Penske's existing BMW of Austin store and is Mini's exclusive dealership in the Austin market — is Penske's fifth Mini store in the U.S. and includes 10 new service bays.

For its first year of the dealership's operation, its annualized revenue is expected to total roughly $30 million, according to Penske.

Meanwhile, the Tempe store — which is housed on 3.5 acres at the Tempe Autoplex — is expected to pull in annualized revenue of $20 million its first year. It includes 15 service bays.
