WINDSOR, Ontario -
Similar to what its U.S. parent did this week, as well, Chrysler Canada revealed the first group of Fiat franchises for Canada. The company picked 58 stores divided across the Eastern region, Western region and Quebec.
Officials said that Chrysler Canada, in selecting its dealer body, considered the potential dealerships’ “location, the establishment of a dedicated Fiat area, and proven sales and customer service expertise.”
The inaugural group will begin selling the 2012 Fiat 500 (Cinquecentro) when it is released in the market.
“We received many very unique and promising proposals from our Canadian dealers," said Reid Bigland, president and chief executive officer of Chrysler Canada. "The enthusiastic and innovative concepts proved that they ‘get’ what the Fiat brand is all about, and bodes well for the successful launch of the brand here in Canada."
Chrysler Canada said it plans to bring in more Fiat stores in the next few months. As far as how many, the automaker said the Fiat dealer body in Canada will fit the “market opportunity.”

Chrysler Canada to Offer Special Edition Fiat 500
In other news from the company, Chrysler Canada is launching an online program at 12:01 a.m. (EST) on Tuesday where Canadian consumers can reserve one of 500 units of the Fiat 500 Prima Edizione model by putting down a $500 (CAD) deposit.
Consumers can go to www.fiatcanada.com to place an order for the model, which will come in three colors (red, white and gray) and features a unique numbered badge on each of the 500 units.
“This is the first time in history that Chrysler Canada has offered a reservation program for a new vehicle,” stated Ed Broadbear, Chrysler Canada’s vice president of marketing. 
“This initiative is in response to the high level of interest surrounding the launch of the Fiat 500, and the large number of Canadian consumers who have become passionate Fiat Followers on our Fiat Canada website, Facebook page and Twitter channel,” he added.
The orders can be picked up at any Fiat dealership. The deposit will be taken off the purchase price. Refunds of the deposit are available until the date of the purchase agreement completion.
