CarGurus announced it has named Mike O’Hanlon as its new chief revenue officer, citing his “deep experience driving customer growth and retention strategies for online marketplace and software as a service businesses.”

In a news release, CarGurus said O’Hanlon will lead its sales and service teams to support growth objectives and priorities toward the goal of strengthening its relationships with dealer partners.

“Mike joins CarGurus during an exciting time, when our marketplace business has accelerated, global dealer adoption has grown and we are developing unique data-driven features that provide even more value to our dealer partners,” CarGurus president and chief operating officer Sam Zales said.

“We believe Mike’s experience scaling businesses with a customer-first approach will enable us to continue that momentum, driving our mission forward as the leading platform for dealers and consumers through all stages of the automotive journey.”

O’Hanlon most recently served as chief partnership officer of ezCater, an online marketplace that connects workplaces with local restaurants and caterers, leading relationship development with restaurant partners, expanding the installed base, scaling the sales force and driving adoption of value-add software.

His resume also includes 12 years with online furniture and home goods marketplace Wayfair, heading supplier relationships, international business expansion and strategic partnerships. CarGurus said O’Hanlon helped lead the company through significant growth, increasing its supplier base and leading expansion into new categories, as well as launching and managing Wayfair’s European business and establishing and growing its media solutions business.

O’Hanlon previously worked in investment banking and spent six years as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. He holds an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia.
