In an era of “go big or go home,” CDK is going small.

The auto industry’s largest dealership software provider, used by major dealership groups throughout North America, has launched a system for the little guys — the CDK Fundamentals Suite, a scalable core business system designed for one- to two-rooftop franchise dealerships and independent stores.

The company said its new system is tailored to meet the unique needs of smaller operations, using the open and integrated platform of CDK Dealership Xperience to sell and service vehicles while managing operations.

“CDK is committed to supporting smaller dealerships by providing a proven, trusted system that leverages the power of our highly successful CDK Dealership Xperience platform,” CDK president and CEO Brian MacDonald said. “The Fundamentals Suite is tailored to address the needs of smaller dealers while being scalable to support our customers’ growth as their requirements change.”

CDK said the suite’s features include:

  • Intuitive user interfaces that provide simplified workflows and actionable insights.

 

  • Comprehensive data protection.

 

  • An accounting system with audit trails that digitally stores original source documents, tracks user changes and maintains approved financial statements for all major OEMs and NIADA.

 

  • Document management that digitally stores dealership documents to reduce paper use and meet OEM requirements, supports electronic forms and signatures, and minimizes errors.

 

  • A signing process with digital signatures.

 

For smaller dealerships offering fixed operations, the Fundamentals Suite offers optional part and service capabilities, including repair orders, parts and service invoicing, 24/7 online service scheduling and parts inventory management with part scanning for accuracy and efficiency.

The system integrates with other CDK Dealership Xperience tools, including CDK SimplePay, CDK Vehicle Inventory Suite, CDK Service and the analytics of the CDK Intelligence Suite for comparative analysis and predictive insights.
