STUTTGART, Germany -

Daimler AG’s supervisory board on Wednesday nominated current chairman Manfred Bischoff for re-election for another five years.

If re-elected, the automaker indicated Bischoff will once again be proposed as candidate for the chair of the supervisory board.

Officials mentioned Bischoff has been a member Daimler’s supervisory board since 2006. He stepped down from the board of management of DaimlerChrysler AG in December 2003. Bischoff is also a member of the supervisory boards of Fraport AG, Royal KPN N.V. and Unicredit S.p.a. and is the chairman of the supervisory boards of Voith GmbH and SMS GmbH.

In other actions Wednesday, Daimler’s supervisory board also nominated Petraea Heynike for election as a member for five years and Lynton Wilson for re-election for another two years.

Daimler noted Heynike is executive vice president and member of the executive board of Nestle SA. The company highlighted she is also a member of the Boards of Life Ventures SA and Nutrition-Wellness Venture SA, both in Switzerland.

In addition, Daimler indicated Heynike is a member of the board of Beverage Partners Worldwide SA. Heynike has chosen to step down from her positions at the Nestle Group as of May 1.

Daimler also highlighted Wilson has been a member of its supervisory board since 1998. He is also the chairman of the board of CAE and is the chancellor of McMaster University.

The automaker pointed out Wilson is a founding co-chairman of Historica Foundation of Canada, chairman of the board of the Daimler Canadian Advisory Council and was chairman of the Canadian Government’s Competition Policy Review Panel.

From 1992 until 1998, Daimler recounted Wilson was chairman and chief executive officer of BCE and chairman of the board until 2000. From 2001 until 2005, he was chairman of the board of Nortel Networks Corp.

Finally, Daimler noted Manfred Schneider will not stand for re-election. Schneider has been a member of the supervisory board since 1998, and his term expires at the end of the annual shareholders’ meeting on April 13.

Board elections are scheduled during the annual shareholders’ meeting in Berlin on April 13.
