Dealer news: Acquisitions in California and Canada
Trust Automotive Holdings partner and CEO Edgar Castellanos and Open Road Capital have acquired two dealerships in Costa Mesa, Calif., from Z Nafe, according to Dave Cantin Group, which advised both parties in the transaction.
Dave Cantin, CEO of Dave Cantin Group, said the acquisition of the dealerships by Castellanos and Open Road Capital marks a significant milestone in expanding their footprint in the luxury and exotic car market.
“With EuroCar’s inventory, sales performance and an upcoming service expansion, along with Lotus of Orange County’s exclusive status, Castellanos and Open Road Capital are well-positioned to capitalize on opportunities in the region’s luxury and exotic vehicle market,” Cantin said.
EuroCar claims the title of “the West Coast’s largest luxury and exotic car boutique,” with an inventory of more than 150 vehicles in a 55,000-square-foot climate-controlled facility. Lotus of Orange County is the region’s exclusive Lotus dealer.
“We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to grow our presence in the luxury and exotic automotive space,” Open Road Capital vice president and general counsel Peter Sheptak said.
Kross Auto Group buys Alberta Kia store
Kross Auto Group has acquired Kia Cold Lake in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada from Darren Bosch, according to Tim Lamb Group, which brokered the sale.
Kia Cold Lake, the only import dealership in Cold Lake, will keep its current name, and all 14 members of the current staff will be retained, the broker said in a news release.
Kross Auto Group, a family-owned business based in Edmonton, also owns dealerships in Edmonton and Calgary.
“When we decided to sell Kia Cold Lake, we wanted to find a dealer who would focus on impacting the community just as much as our team did,” Bosch said, “and I believe we found that with Kross Group.
“We were wholeheartedly committed to being enthusiastic participants in the growth and vitality of this remarkable town and we have the utmost trust that our team, under the guidance of Kevin Robertson and his team, will continue to do the same.”
Bosch, who owns Homefield Ford in Raymond, Alberta, said he is focusing his efforts closer to Southern Alberta, where his dealership is located.
