Dealers in NASCAR: Jimmie Johnson stars in Carvana ad; Zeigler-sponsored driver named Rookie of the Year
For an ad emphasizing speed, Carvana found a pretty good spokesman.
Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is featured in a new commercial touting Carvana’s same-day vehicle delivery service, which allows select customers to receive their car in less than 24 hours after placing an order on carvana.com.
The service, which was introduced in Arizona in 2023, is currently available in markets covering 16 states, with Houston the most recent addition.
Carvana Racing has partnered with Johnson, who was inducted into NASCAR Hall of Fame this year, since 2021.
“After several successful seasons with Jimmie, we couldn’t be more excited to have him star in a same day delivery campaign,” Carvana co-founder and chief brand officer Ryan Keeton said. “His proven record on the race track makes him a natural choice for a commercial highlighting the speed of Carvana’s same day delivery.”
The ad, produced by Carvana’s in-house creative team, Johnson experiencing the speed and precision of Carvana’s same day delivery service as he takes on the challenge of delivering cars to customers in just hours.
The campaign will air on television, digital and social media channels in the coming weeks.
“When I learned Carvana could deliver a car in less than two hours, I was blown away,” Johnson said in a news release. “The Carvana team truly makes every minute count … combining speed with reliability in a way that redefines car buying.”
Zeigler-sponsored Hocevar named NASCAR Rookie of the Year
Carson Hocevar was named 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year a big win for the 21-year-old driver — and for Zeigler Automotive Group.
The Kalamazoo, Mich.-based dealership group entered into a partnership with Hocevar, a native of nearby Portage, Mich., and Spire Motorsports to sponsor the driver and his No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in December.
Zeigler was the car’s co-primary sponsor for the Daytona 500 and has partnered with the driver for a series of races and philanthropic efforts in the Kalamazoo-Portage area.
“It has been an incredible experience to support Carson this year for a number of key races,” Zeigler Auto Group president and owner Aaron Zeigler said. “This is a very well-deserved accolade and we are proud of what he represents on and off the track.”
Hocevar compiled one top-five finish — third place in the September race at Watkins Glen International — as well as six top 10 and 13 top 15 finishes in his first full season. He was the top rookie finisher in 15 races on NASCAR’s top circuit.
“Being named Sunoco Rookie of the Year is special,” Hocevar said. “I got beat out for Rookie of the Year in the CRAFTSMAN Truck series, and I didn’t run in the Xfinity Series full time so to win the award in the NASCAR Cup Series is a huge accomplishment for our whole team. … We ran really strong at the end of the year and were able to pull away in terms of points. These last several weeks show our capabilities as a team.
“The award will be something that will live with me my whole career. … It is cool to win something so significant this year, and the mission is now to get the No. 77 car in the playoffs in 2025.”
Zeigler Automotive operates across 41 locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.
