DrivingSales Reveals Two More Keynoters
DrivingSales.com has brought in two more keynote speakers for its upcoming DrivingSales Executive Summit.
Slated to share their insight are Scott Monty, Ford's global digital and multimedia communications manager, and Dan Zarrella, who wrote The Social Media Marketing Book.
It was previously announced that Jeremiah Owyang, a social media analyst, blogger and Web strategist, will also be a keynoter.
The second annual event — which DrivingSales is presenting with WardsAuto.com — is being held at the Encore Wynn Las Vegas from Oct. 18 through Oct. 20.
The target of this year's event will be center on "Innovating Dealership Profit Centers in the Recovery Economy," according to officials.
"We are proud to present a lineup of visionary social media keynoters who will provide our attendees with inspiration, insight, innovation and, most importantly, actionable strategies to help them meet the demands of a rapidly evolving marketing universe," shared Jared Hamilton, who is the chief executive officer and founder of DrivingSales.
"Scott is deservedly known as ‘the best corporate social media lead on the planet,' and Dan's scientific and data-based book on social media is a must-have text for today's marketers," he continued. "We are truly honored to host them at the DSES."
As far as the schedule of events, Monty's keynote address is planned for 4 p.m. (PST) on Oct. 18, while Zarrella's keynote address is slated for 9 a.m. on Oct. 20.
Looking into these speakers' experience in more detail, Monty leads Ford's social media efforts.
His duties include serving as the strategic adviser for all of Ford's social-media activities. Among these are blogger relations, marketing support, customer service and internal communications, just to name a few.
Monty also has a blog — titled "The Social Media Marketing Blog," which can be found at www.scottmonty.com — where he includes podcasts in addition to his blog posts. Monty is a blogger and does podcasts for The Baker Street Blog, as well.
Officials noted that Monty is credited for coming up with term "tweetup," which has been apparently accepted by the Oxford Dictionary of English.
Moving on to discuss Zarrella, officials said he is a social-, search- and viral-marketing scientist who was recognized by the Shorty and Semmy awards last year for social media and viral marketing.
Zarrella's background is in Web development. Officials said he studies social-media behaviors in an analytical manner by taking his programming abilities and blending them with his enthusiasm for social marketing. He passes this knowledge on by sharing "scientifically grounded best practices" with marketers.
