CHICAGO -

Faster appraisals on the lot or at the auction mean faster decision making for dealers looking to buy or bid.

A new app announced this week by retail performance management software firm FirstLook Systems offers features the company said can help dealers make more effective appraisals.

Called the FirstLook iPhone App, it allows dealers to instantly access FirstLook’s market database to determine how much to bid for trades and purchases.

“Mobile technology is transforming the way dealers operate on a daily basis,” said Jeff Summers, chief executive officer of FirstLook Systems. “The FirstLook iPhone App empowers auto retailers with instant access to our extensive vehicle and market database directly from their mobile device, helping them make faster and more effective appraisals from anywhere on the lot.”

Advanced features of the iPhone app also include a VIN Scanner, which allows dealers to scan vehicle barcodes directly from their mobile devices, and Book Values, including Kelly Blue Book, Black Book, NADA, and Galves.

The company said features also include Pricing, which integrates with FirstLook’s PING pricing tool; Vehicle History Reports including Carfax and AutoCheck; and Desktop Integration, which synchronizes directly with FirstLook’s desktop environment.

FirstLook Mobile, which is compatible with Apple iOS 5 and iOS 6, is available for download at the iTunes store; support for Android is expected this fall, the company said.
