NADA Adds New University Partner to Focus on HR Matters
The National Automobile Dealers Association broadened its scope of NADA University partners by bringing in a new one to boost its human resources offerings.
The newest partner aimed at providing comprehensive education and training resources for dealers and their staffs is EZ-HR, an online human resources trainer.
The association emphasized NADA University now offers dealers a selection of information-packed education sessions focused on key HR functions, such as hiring and retention strategies, creating job descriptions and performance evaluations, developing HR policy handbooks and meeting legal requirements.
A Webinar entitled “Recruiting and Hiring Strategies for Today’s Dealers” already is available online via the university’s archive. It can be found within the Learning Hub section.
NADA explained this Webinar features Susan Woods, of ADP Screening and Selection Services, and Bob Murray, of ADP Dealer Services, who present best practices for “hiring winners." They focus on identifying methods for building a cost-effective and compliant screening system.
Woods and Murray note studies that show the difference between hiring a good salesperson and a poor salesperson. That difference reportedly is roughly $30,000 annually per hire. They also share tips to help dealerships know whom they’re hiring.
In addition, officials reiterated NADA University offers a series of other training and education sessions, as well as materials for dealers on key HR-related issues, including:
—A new online course, “Complying with FMLA” (Family and Medical Leave Act), in the Learning Hub.
—A MarketINSIGHT Webinar on Healthcare Reform, archived in the Resource Toolbox.
—HR Essentials, a comprehensive informational resource that includes direction, samples and templates for dealers on such key HR materials as job descriptions, policies and performance evaluations, in the Resource Toolbox.
“As a dealer, your most important asset in a competitive marketplace is a well-trained, high-quality staff,” explained John Lyboldt, vice president of dealership operations for NADA.
“That’s why we’re expanding NADA U’s programs in the HR area to help dealers attract and retain top employees, and we’re especially pleased to welcome our new partner EZ-HR to help us in those efforts,” Lyboldt continued.
“Car buyers are getting back in the game again as the market rebounds, and many dealerships are cautiously beginning to add staff,” he went on to say. “Now is the time to step up your HR operations and training programs, so your employees are equipped with the new skill sets they’ll need to succeed in a fast-changing market.”
