PIERRE, S.D. -

In less than two months, the South Dakota Independent Auto Dealers Association will host a two-day conference in the historic Western town of Deadwood, S.D., where attendees will be treated to presentations on best practices from a slew of industry leaders as well as a Las Vegas-style theme and entertainment.

“Las Vegas in Deadwood – Auto Fest” will be held Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 at The Lodge at Deadwood hotel.

"Every attendee will walk away with an idea that can be profitably implemented in your business. That idea will more than pay for your time and expense," said Jerry Vogeler, executive director of the SDIADA.

"You can make more money by attending this event than by staying home," he added.

Among the experts slated to share their insight are AutoTrader.com president and chief executive officer Chip Perry, who will delve into an AutoTrader/R.L. Polk & Co. study that highlights customer purchase data and how dealers can sway shoppers. Perry will also delve into helping dealers establish an “Internet culture” at their store, merchandise online, measure how effective advertising spending is and find the best way to blend traditional and online advertising.

Another presentation will be from vAuto’s Bill Reidy, who will offer the “Keys to Used Car Success” seminar. In addition to many more presentations, a slate of lenders will be on hand to explain their retail or wholesale financing.

The event will conclude with a performance from Dueling Pianos, who have traveled the country playing and appear regularly at the Las Vegas New York New York hotel.

As far as entertainment, there will also be an opening night vendor reception and auction/social.
