Suzuki Looks to Drive Momentum with Online Video, Gaming Contests
BREA, Calif. — In a trend that is becoming extremely popular among automakers, American Suzuki Motor Corp. is launching a reward points and sweepstakes program to be run through its website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages.
The Suzuki AllPoints program — where almost 250 prizes will be handed out — consists primarily of the "Live Large" video contest and the Kizashi Ring of Fire online racing game.
The video contest will roll out Aug. 25. Participants are encouraged to submit videos of how they "Live Large," and the best of these will be featured on Suzuki's website and YouTube channel.
Suzuki is giving prizes for the top three submissions.
Meanwhile, the video game contest starts on Sept. 1 and allows contestants to compete on virtual race tracks to earn points as they vie for trip to an open-wheel racing school. Winning the trip at the end of the program will be the contestant who has the highest total score.
Overall, contestants will have the chance to win a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi GTS Sport, which is the grand prize for the sweepstakes program. Suzuki is also giving away a Sony 3D TV and a Garmin GPS.
"Additionally, each week users who engage in an AllPoints activity will be entered into a weekly drawing, with ten $25 gift cards awarded each week," officials explained.
Moreover, Suzuki is giving out a $500 Apple gift card each month to the AllPoints user who has earned the most points for that particular month.
Besides the aforementioned rewards, up for grabs for AllPoints participants are the following: a trip to open-wheel racing school, a trip for two to any U.S. city, a $1,000 shopping spree or a Sony PlayStation 3.
"Registered Suzuki AllPoints users earn points and a sweepstakes entry for each program activity; entries are only given with actions for which points are earned," officials explained.
"Each activity has a specified number of points associated with it. No purchase necessary, but participants must be a registered Suzuki AllPoints user to win prizes," they added. "A maximum of 250 points per day can be acquired toward the Monthly Points Prize."
