TSD Mobility Solutions announced its long-term strategic plan for upgrades to its rental car software products, including several to be released this year.
The initiatives begin with the redesigned TSD RENTAL mobile app, launched this spring.
In a news release, the provider of software for rental car companies said the new design “reflects TSD’s dedication to bringing more consumer-facing capabilities into the operational side of the rental business, creating better experiences for rental agents and the customers they serve.”
The app includes improved loyalty program features that allow consumers to book, manage and retain their own information, which the company said paves the way for future self-service rental opportunities going forward.
“We work with the largest rental car companies in the world,” TSD president Shawn Concannon said. “With their help and feedback, we’ve developed features that put this cutting-edge technology in the hands of their agents and customers.”
Other releases scheduled for 2025 include improved rate management and more visual damage documentation flows. TSD said existing mobile users will be able to use QR codes more in the new product to expedite the overall process, at both the counter and when completing self-service rentals.
Rollout plans for TSD RENTAL’s platform are underway and expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
TSD said its rental and dealership products are used by more than 16,000 businesses, processing some 4 million rental agreements and 4 million reservations in 2024. The company said it has built tighter inventory controls for the lifecycle of the fleets, using integrated buying and selling tools based on local markets to help car rental companies adapt quicker to economic highs and lows.
