SALT LAKE CITY -

Late last week, Vehix released what it considers to be the top used vehicles for teenage drivers that are not only affordable, but are top-notch in terms of safety and reliability.

The “8 Great Used Cars for under $10,000 for Teenagers” features only vehicles that met the numerous requirements from Vehix, which included a minimum vehicle weight of 3,000 and mandated that the vehicles received good scores in crash tests.

Additionally, all the vehicles had to be four-door models that cost less than $10,000 and be less than 10 years old. The models must also offer four-cylinder engines to improve fuel efficiency.

Furthermore, it was required that the mileage for all units be average for their respective ages. Additionally, the vehicles needed to have received high reliability ratings from Consumer Reports and J.D. Power and Associates.

“Every parent wants a safe, reliable car for their teen driver,” stated Michael Waterman, executive editor at Vehix. “We identified eight vehicles from seven manufacturers that we would encourage our own children to drive due to their proven dependability, safety ratings and fuel efficiency.”

He continued: “Choose any vehicle on the affordable used car list, and parents can rest easy knowing their child is driving a safe, dependable vehicle that won’t break the family bank in terms of ownership costs.”
