ADESA appoints its San Diego head new GM of Los Angeles auction
Former ADESA San Diego general manager Ted Coates will now head the ADESA Los Angeles auction, the business unit of KAR Auction Services announced Thursday.
Coates brings over 25 years of auto remarketing industry experience, including more than 15 years spent at ADESA, the company said.
Through a series of management positions, including his most recent role as ADESA San Diego general manager for six years, the company said Coates has developed a diverse background when it comes to auction operations.
“We didn’t have to search far to find the new leader of ADESA Los Angeles. For the past six years, Ted has successfully led ADESA San Diego as general manager. Now he returns to the location where he grew his career through various managerial roles,” Jay Hinchman ADESA regional vice president of the western region said in a news release announcing Coates new appointment. “He brings a wealth of industry knowledge along with many very strong relationships in the California market that will result in a smooth transition for our customers.”
As head of ADESA Los Angeles, Coates is responsible for managing auction operations, staff and client relationships.
The auction is a full-service facility that has nine sale lanes, along with detail, body and mechanical shops that can provide on-site floor planning, key services, inspections and reconditioning services.
