Greater Rockford Auto Auction’s 51st birthday party will be a big one.
The independent auto auction in Rockford, Ill., will celebrate with a two-day GRAA’lapalooza Anniversary Sale, set for June 24-25.
The event will feature a concert by American alternative rock band Gin Blossoms, whose 1992 major label debut album, New Miserable Experience, produced the top 25 hit “Hey Jealousy”. The band, which has in recent years shared the stage with Collective Soul, Barenaked Ladies and Hootie & The Blowfish, will perform that and other hits, including “Allison Road,” “Until I Fall Away” and “Follow You Down”.
The event will kick off at 4 p.m. June 24 with a sale featuring more than 200 vehicles running, followed by food and drinks provided by local food trucks. At 7 p.m., Gin Blossoms will take the GRAA’lapalooza stage.
The auction main event comes the next day, with more than 1,000 vehicles running from fleet/lease and dealer consignors, after which the auction will give away $10,000 in prizes.
“We are honored to celebrate 51 years at a GRAA’lapalooza event that is bigger and better than ever,” GRAA general manager Chad Anderson said.
AutoIMS Heslin to VP of administration and accounting
AutoIMS has promoted director of administration Beverly Heslin to vice president of administration and accounting, the company announced.
In a news release, AutoIMS said Heslin has “consistently demonstrated a ‘can-do’ attitude” in her 12 years with the company, “tackling challenges head-on and managing complex administrative and vendor-related initiatives with expertise.”
The company cited her commitment to supporting employees and streamlining operational efficiencies.
Heslin’s role expanded over the past six months as she took on accounting oversight, bringing all cash flow operations under one team. AutoIMS said her ability to integrate administration and accounting functions has “enhanced operational synergy.” She has also worked to organize company-wide engagement events to strengthen team camaraderie.
“Beverly’s promotion is well-deserved recognition of her dedication and impact,” CEO and president Venkat Krishnamoorthy said. “Her leadership, problem-solving skills and commitment to our team make her an invaluable asset. We are excited to see how AutoIMS continues to grow under her guidance in this role.”
