On the same day it launched a new electric vehicle-related offering, Carvana announced its latest auction and reconditioning Megasite.
The company said Wednesday it will bring the Carvana Inspection and Reconditioning Center capabilities (IRC) to its ADESA Colorado Springs auction, which will continue to host digital and in-lane auction services.
This is Carvana’s eighth Megasite.
“After many years serving retail and wholesale customers in the Colorado Springs area, we are thrilled to expand our local team and capabilities,” Carvana senior vice president of inventory Brian Boyd said in a news release. “This integration will bring a wider selection of vehicles with quick shipping times to local retail customers, provide a more robust offering for local wholesale customers, and also create new job opportunities for entry level and skilled professionals in the local community.”
The Fountain, Colo., facility is located on 50 acres and includes more than 4,000, which allows for the infrastructure to support Carvana IRC efforts as well as ADESA auction operations.
The company has started hiring new workers and anticipates the integration will bring about 100 new jobs.
With IRC capabilities at ADESA Colorado Springs, Carvana will be able to boost its reconditioning capacity and provide more inventory in that metropolitan area, ultimately improving the efficiency of the company’s recon and fulfillment network.
In addition to greater vehicle selection, the integration will help speed up vehicle delivery times.
And speaking of delivery, Carvana has debuted a new way to transport electric vehicles.
The company announced its first EV Car Hauler, which launched in Atlanta.
“The hauler features an ‘electrifying’ new design,” Carvana said in a news brief.
“The new EV Car Hauler features an innovative wrap design that is visually striking. Join us in welcoming the newest member of the Carvana fleet!”
