Carvana’s newest auction-recon Megasite coming to Las Vegas
Another month, another Megasite.
Carvana said it’s preparing to convert the ADESA Las Vegas auction into a combination auction-reconditioning facility. The online used-car retailer said it will add inspection and reconditioning center capabilities the existing wholesale auction site, which will continue all of its current digital and in-lane auction operations.
The location will anchor the growth of Carvana’s retail and wholesale operations in the area and enhance its offerings for retail and wholesale customers, the company said.
The Las Vegas site will be the third ADESA auction to become an auction-IRC Megasite. Carvana opened its first Megasite at ADESA Kansas City in August, followed by ADESA Houston in September.
Carvana said it expects the Las Vegas Megasite transition to create some 200 entry-level and skilled jobs in the area and added it has already begun hiring new staff.
“We’re excited to continue to build out our powerful national footprint by bringing Carvana’s inspection and reconditioning center capabilities to ADESA Las Vegas,” senior vice president of inventory Brian Boyd said.
“The Megasite transition not only expands Carvana’s production capacity and improves network efficiency for Carvana as a whole, it also drives faster delivery times for local retail customers and a more robust auction offering for local wholesale customers.”
Not long after the Kansas City Megasite opened, Carvana brought its same-day delivery service to that market, attributing that addition to the increased capabilities of the newly expanded facility.
