Central Dispatch’s ‘transformation’ continues with revamped platform
The “transformation” of Central Dispatch continues.
Cox Automotive’s self-managed auto transportation marketplace has launched a “completely reimagined” platform, designed to simplify transportation management by providing shippers, brokers and carriers everything needed to complete a transaction in a single, integrated marketplace.
It’s the second phase of what Cox termed a “journey to transform the vehicle transportation experience,” following the June launch of Central Dispatch Enterprise, a customizable package of end-to-end capabilities aimed at large automotive shippers and brokers.
Cox said the new platform was built based on client feedback and will serve as the foundation for future enhancements.
“We have been focused on solving our clients’ most pressing need: streamlining the increasingly fragmented world of vehicle transport,” Cox Automotive head of Central Dispatch Lainey Sibble said in a news release. “This new experience achieves that and more by bringing together everything they need for end-to-end vehicle transportation management into one centralized platform, giving them the power to take control of their supply chain and move their businesses forward.”
The company said Central Dispatch features new capabilities for dispatching and managing vehicle loads as well as integrations with third-party tools and a carrier mobile app that has been used to move nearly 600,000 vehicles.
That includes enhanced dashboards with new tools offering more control and visibility of shipments, an upgraded dispatch experience to manage multiple loads in one place, a carrier mobile app fully integrated with the Central Dispatch marketplace, and API integrations with popular third-party solutions.
As with the launch of Central Dispatch Enterprise, Cox also promised more capabilities to come, including additional connections with third-party systems, new automations like one-click accept and digital negotiations, and data-driven insights that can support informed decision-making.
“There’s a reason Central Dispatch has continued to be the transportation marketplace more shippers, brokers and carriers turn to,” Cox senior vice president of digital inventory and supply chain solutions Joe Kichler said, “and it’s because we are committed to listening to their feedback, solving their challenges and fueling their success in the way that only we, as a part of Cox Automotive, can.
“We’re just getting started on Central Dispatch’s multi-year transformation journey, and we can’t wait to show clients what’s in store.”
