Dyer takes the helm for Merchants Fleet
Merchants Fleet has a new captain.
The fleet management company has named Matt Dyer as its CEO, saying he brings decades of industry leadership and expertise to the role.
“Matt is an exceptional leader with deep fleet expertise and a proven track record of driving transformative change,” interim co-CEO Brad Burgess said. “His bold vision, collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence make him the ideal person to guide Merchants into its next chapter.”
With the addition of Dyer, Burgess will return to his previous position as senior vice president of sales and marketing, and fellow interim co-CEO Kirk Hoffman will resume his role as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Dyer’s career in the global fleet management industry four years as CEO and president of LeasePlan USA, where Merchant’s Fleet said he improved the company’s client net promoter score, implemented scalable operations, launched a portfolio of products and invested in tech innovations which resulted in “historic growth” for the company.
When LeasePlan USA was sold, Dyer helped the company’s transition as it integrated with Wheels.
Dyer served as CEO of LeasePlan UK, and previously held senior roles with the company as chief commercial officer in the U.K., and managing director of LeasePlan International. He was also chairman of the U.K. trade association for the vehicle rental and leasing sector.
“Merchants’ unwavering dedication to its clients lies at the core of its success, inspiring bold innovation and a distinctive ability to think beyond conventional boundaries,” Dyer said. “I value that client commitment very highly and see it as an important vision for our business.
“I am honored to join the company at such a pivotal and exciting moment in its evolution, and to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the business as we redefine what’s possible for our employees, clients and partners.”
