Enterprise Mobility is making a big commitment to fight hunger and promote social equity – $200 million big.
The parent company of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo said it will provide more than $200 million in new funding to its Fill Your Tank program and ROAD Forward initiative, which support local nonprofit organizations and partners in communities in North America and Europe where the company operates.
“From our first days in business, we have been deeply committed to fostering healthy, thriving communities in the places where Enterprise Mobility team members live and work,” president and CEO Chrissy Taylor said. “This investment builds on that legacy, helping us continue to tackle hunger as well as support education, health and wellness, and career prep for youth and young adults.”
By 2030, Enterprise said it will have given a total of more than $375 million in grants from its operating groups and the Enterprise Mobility Foundation: $210 million through Fill Your Tank and $165 million through The ROAD Forward.
The Fill Your Tank program was created in 2016 to address food insecurity and work toward a future without hunger. More than 670 local organizations in hundreds of communities have received grants since then through Fill Your Tank. Partners include Feeding America, Food Banks Canada and the Global FoodBanking Network, as well as local food banks and food programs in communities served by Enterprise Mobility’s 70-plus operating groups.
The ROAD Forward initiative, launched in 2020, supports organizations that address social equity gaps providing grants to local nonprofits and partners such as My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, UNCF, Girls Inc., Parents as Teachers and Thurgood Marshall College Fund to support early childhood development, youth health and wellness, and career and college preparation.
Since its inception, more than 1,000 local organizations have received grants through the ROAD Forward.
Local nonprofits for both Fill Your Tank and ROAD Forward are selected by Enterprise Mobility’s operating groups, which the company said empowers team members to take the lead in identifying organizations best equipped to address issues in their neighborhoods.
“Through Enterprise Mobility’s latest investment, we’re standing behind our core value to strengthen communities across North America and Europe,” Enterprise Mobility Foundation president Carolyn Kindle said. “Seeing the transformative impact of those programs has been inspiring, and we’re thrilled to build on the momentum.”
Enterprise Mobility said has donated more than half billion dollars to charitable organizations worldwide through its operating groups and the Enterprise Mobility Foundation, responding to natural disasters and helping address issues through partnerships, local grants, volunteerism and employee giving.
