For its 80th anniversary, Manheim Pennsylvania went back to the ‘80s — and raised money for charity.
Cox Automotive’s flagship auction held its 16th annual Xtreme Spring Sale event and fundraiser last week, highlighted by a 1980s-themed closing gala complete with a DeLorean, arcade games, a graffiti wall and plenty of big hair and acid-washed denim.
Manheim Pennsylvania’s largest annual event attracted more than 3,000 at the auction site and via Simulcast for its Highline, Classic, Specialty and 100 Grander sales, as well as live benefit auction featuring a red 2021 Chevrolet Corvette that combined with donations during the event to raise more than $105,000 for Aaron’s Acres, a local nonprofit that provides opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities to participate in innovative social and recreational programs.
“The team at Aaron’s Acres feels extremely blessed with being chosen as the recipient of this year’s Xtreme Spring event at Manheim,” Aaron’s Acres executive director Risa Paskoff said. “Our organization has been able to expand our programs and increase the ages of our participants in large part because of the financial support we have received. We are able to meet their needs thanks to Manheim’s ongoing commitment to giving back.”
The 2025 event was particularly significant as it marked the auction’s 80th year in business. Manheim’s first auction began in 1945 as a small, two-lane auction, and has grown into the world’s largest wholesale auto auction with 75 locations on more than 6,500 acres nationwide, offering in-lane and online auto auctions.
“This year’s Xtreme Spring event was especially meaningful as it gave us the opportunity to celebrate Manheim’s 80th anniversary while also raising money for a great cause,” Manheim Pennsylvania Market Center general manager Emily Decker said. “At Manheim Pennsylvania, we take immense pride in having served our clients and this incredible community for 80 years and we look forward to continuing Manheim’s legacy of excellence and community service for the next 80 years and beyond.”
