‘Mystery Car’ Giveaway Set for DAA/OKC Sale

Organizers of the Dealers Auto Auction of Oklahoma City silver anniversary celebration say plans to give away a “Mystery Car” at the event are creating buzz among dealers.
DAA/OKA will hold Round 1 of its 25th anniversary celebration on June 27, where auction customers who have been submitting entries for an entire year will finally find out who wins the Mystery Car.
Participants have flooded the ticket hopper with entries since June 2012, says owner and general manger Gary Smith, earning one ticket for every vehicle consigned, bought or sold.
The party sale, dubbed Heat Wave by auction officials, is a “visual reminder to all of us of the tremendous volume of business we do at DAA/OKC,” Smith said.
“The anticipation is reaching a fevered pitch as we draw near to Round 1 of our anniversary celebration in June, and we expect a packed house for the sale, and for the drawing for the Mystery Car that will cap the day.”
The first round of Heat Wave will include a sale lineup of more than 2,000 cars, trucks and SUVs, along with featured consignors including Santander Consumer USA; Hertz Corp.; Avis/Budget Group; Thrifty; Ally Auto Remarketing; Littleton Motors; LK Auto Remarketing; FW Remarketing; Credit Connection; Enterprise; Lease Plan America; One Main; Budget Trucks; The Key; BF Remarketing; RSA; GM Financial; Donlen; and ARI.
The event will also feature Ross Magness, former manager of the DAA/OKC café, serving hamburgers and hot dogs, accompanied by potato salad and baked beans.
After the last car crosses the block, the crowd will gather end-of-sale prize drawings, Smith said, followed by the reveal of the year, make and model of the Mystery Car, and its winner.
Round 2 of DAA’s 25th anniversary celebration is set for Oct. 17, and will include another Mystery Car giveaway.
DAA/OKC was founded by Smith in 1988.
