Auto transport and logistics provider Proficient Auto Logistics has acquired Brothers Auto Transport, a move the company said is intended to expand its fleet and base of drivers, and strengthen its presence in Northeastern markets.

Brothers, founded in 1996 and based in Wind Gap, Pa., adds new OEM partnerships to Proficient’s portfolio and expands existing ones to improve its service capabilities and customer reach, the company said, adding Brothers’ track record of profitability, operational expertise and reputation in the industry fit with Proficient’s philosophy.

“This acquisition is an important milestone in our growth strategy,” CEO Richard O’Dell said. “Brothers Auto Transport has built a well-run, profitable business with deep-rooted OEM relationships. The operational and geographic synergies between our companies will allow us to provide a higher level of service to our customers while elevating our presence in the Northeast.

“While this transaction is smaller than prior acquisitions, we expect the business to be accretive immediately, proportional to its size, and positioned to contribute to PAL’s long-term financial and operational objectives.”

The addition of Brothers increases Proficient’s fleet capacity by 13%, while integrating experienced drivers and operational and support management personnel into its team.

Brothers’ former owner, Don Carney, said the acquisition is “an exciting opportunity” for the company.

“Joining Proficient Auto Logistics allows Brothers to leverage additional resources, expand reach and continue delivering the high-quality service customers expect,” he said. “We look forward to the road ahead.”
