SIXT USA has continued to grow its footprint. But this time, it is related to general operations of the rental car company.

On Tuesday, SIXT announced it’s planning to open a new office in Tulsa, Okla.

As part of SIXT’s global strategy to enhance capabilities in key markets around the world, the company highlighted the Tulsa office will support its ongoing expansion across North America — SIXT’s largest growth market — while reinforcing its commitment to offer best-in-class customer service.

Scheduled to open in March, the office will be in the heart of downtown Tulsa’s central business district at One Technology Center.

“We are excited to establish our presence in Tulsa and become an integral part of this dynamic and fast-growing city,” SIXT North America president Tom Kennedy said in a news release. “With its skilled workforce, strategic location, and strong business ecosystem, Tulsa provides the ideal environment to support our continued expansion.

“This new office will enhance our ability to support branches and customers across multiple time zones, ensuring seamless service as we scale our operations,” Kennedy continued.

Initially occupying approximately 15,000 square feet and employing 70 people in its first year, SIXT said the office is projected to expand to 41,000 square feet and 200 employees within five years.

This new hub will complement SIXT’s North American headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., by expanding the company’s capabilities across essential business functions.

Today, SIXT operates more than 100 rental car branches in 26 states and now serves 51 airports across the country, including the establishment of rental offerings in New Orleans.

In addition, by launching operations in Canada in 2022, SIXT said it is tapping into another billion-dollar market that also offers potential for synergies with its U.S. operations.

Leaders in Tulsa cheered SIXT’s decision to set up in Oklahoma through the news release.

Tulsa mayor Monroe Nichols said, “I am excited to welcome SIXT on their expansion to Tulsa and glad Tulsa’s value is showcased as a city dedicated to business retention and development. I want to thank SIXT for choosing Tulsa and I look forward to the positive impact they will have both on our economy and in our community.”

Mike Neal, president and chief executive officer of the Tulsa Regional Chamber added, “We are thrilled to welcome SIXT to our city and our business community as the company continues its expansion across North America. SIXT’s presence not only will enhance service for its customers across the U.S. and Canada but also contribute to our local economy and workforce. We look forward to a strong partnership with SIXT as it gains a foothold in Tulsa.”
