TPC Management brings next generation into its family business
TPC Management’s latest personnel move is a look toward the future.
Ray Wanna, son of longtime TPC executives Penny and Jiles Wanna and nephew of company founders Pierre and Pauline Pons, has joined the firm as commercial sales/business development coordinator.
“We have long noted the strength of family-owned businesses in the remarketing industry,” Pierre Pons said, “and have encouraged the training and contributions of multi-generational leadership in the many auto auctions we work with. We’re pleased to follow suit by including our own next generation member to the TPC family.”
Pons said Ray Wanna will focus on account prospecting for TPC’s auction clients – “following in the footsteps” of Pons and Jiles Wanna – calling on credit unions, finance companies and municipalities with an eye toward matching their remarketing needs with TPC’s independent auction clients.
Ray Wanna is a graduate of Columbia State College with a background in sales, marketing and communications. In a news release, the company said he will continue his industry education at TPC’s Auction Academy and has already completed NAAA’s safety and data security programs as well as ARA’s audit and compliance training. He is currently pursuing his ARA Certified Automotive Remarketer credential.
“Being included in such a dynamic and successful company is a thrilling step for me,” Ray Wanna said. “For many years I’ve had the privilege of working with Pierre and Pauline Pons in some of their ancillary ventures and appreciate this opportunity to learn the remarketing industry as I move into work directly with TPC.”
Wanna said he is “profoundly grateful for the influence of my parents as I join them in this business.”
He said his mother, Penny Wanna, “in particular has been instrumental in mentoring me and urging me to pursue this career path. She casts a big shadow in this industry, and I am grateful to follow her leadership.”
