RICHMOND, Va. -

CarLotz will open a fourth hub in its home state of Virginia.

The company’s co-founder and chief executive officer Michael Bor said he believed the hub would provide growth as the company expands its footprint across the southeast and throughout Virginia.

A consignment-to-retail used-vehicle marketplace, CarLotz currently operates its full omni-channel offering out of 11 hubs including Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Texas, and Washington state.

The company operates its other Virginia hubs in Richmond, Midlothian, and Chesapeake.

Carlotz said it expected to open the new hub, located at 1389 Richmond Road in Charlottesville, by the end of May.

The company announced its first Tennessee opening, a hub in Nashville, earlier this month, and CarLotz expects that hub to open by the end of the month.

Also at the new Charlottesville location, the company said it would soon begin hiring for sales coaches, service techs, managers and other positions.

Bor said the Charlottesville community was home to a diverse group of car buyers and sellers, including students and educators, investors and innovators.

Members of those groups seek a quality product, value, and service, Bor said.

“CarLotz’s one-of-a-kind consignment-to-retail-sales model allows us to put more value back in the hands of buyers and sellers,” Bor said in a news release.

Bor also said, “You can get more money for your car when you sell through CarLotz and more car for your money when you buy from CarLotz.”
