SANTA MONICA, Calif. -

Edmunds.com revealed late last week that it has updated its Android smartphone app to include more used-car pricing information.

The added features allow for users to research the specifications of used vehicles and to configure and appraise them with trade-in, private party and retail prices based on Edmunds.com’s True Market Value calculations.

“The initial launch of our Android app for new car research was a major success and the most common feedback we received was a strong desire for used-car information,” said Jennifer Cleverley, director of mobile technology at Edmunds.com.

“We heard that feedback loud and clear, and car buyers now have an even better app to help them negotiate their new or used vehicle purchases with confidence,” she continued.

Additionally, the updated app also includes a new color options gallery that allows users to see pictures of a model in all of its available colors.

Plus, the app now incorporates feedback from users “that improves the way information is organized for both new and used cars,” officials stressed.

Highlighting the application as a whole, the Android app combines Edmunds.com car research, pricing, specifications, photos and inventory search in one  shopping tool.

Users can research car pricing, configure a car to specific requirements as well as read Edmunds.com car reviews and find regional True Market Value pricing.

Lastly, shoppers can then locate a car at a dealership and contact the dealer for a price quote.
