Manheim wrapped up 2011 with a double-digit gain in traffic to its online portals, according to the auction company’s latest monthly digital update.

Officials arrived at a 10-percent website traffic climb thanks to more than 4.9 million visits to the Manheim website as well as dealers using the company’s apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

“We were excited to end the year with such strong growth, which positions us well for 2012 and the new products we’ll launch at NADA and throughout the year,” declared Joe George, group vice president of Manheim Digital.

The overwhelming choice of devices used to access Manheim’s online solutions was the iPhone or iPad, which constituted 60 percent of the company’s online traffic. Android devices represented another 32 percent of user penetration.

In other noteworthy achievements, Manheim mentioned it finished 2011 with a 25-percent increase in seller and a 10-percent jump in buyers using its Web channel.

The company also said it finished 2011 with the total number of vehicles offered by dealer sellers online being 22 percent higher than the previous year.

On average, Manheim indicated more than 54,000 users log into OVE.com each month. The company also noted it received more than 2 million visits to the Web version of the Manheim Market Report.
