Conference organizers recently announced that several new names have been added to the agenda for 2011 Auto Remarketing Canada — Canada’s Used Car Conference, presented by CarProof. Those speakers include both dealers and remarketers and will contribute to a number of different panel discussions.

The 2011 Auto Remarketing Canada conference will also feature a special event held at the Hockey Hall of Fame and sponsored by ADESA, Auto Remarketing, Canadian Black Book, Manheim and OPENLANE, organizers announced today.

New speaker additions to the lineup include Bruce Lindsay, CPO and fleet manager for Volkswagen Group Canada, and Pat Patsakos, general manager at Mississauga Honda, both of whom will speak as part of the “Certified Pre-Owned Sales & Operations — An Opportunity to Grow Dealer Sales and Increase Brand Loyalty” session on April 13.

Lindsay and Patsakos join Doug McDougall, of Don Valley North Toyota, as well as representatives of Honda/Acura Canada Finance and Toyota Canada for the session.

Another dealer, Murray Clark, liaison corporate operations/leasing division manager at Don Valley North Automotive, has been added to the “Best Practices and Smartest Strategies for Effectively Advertising Pre-Owned Inventory Online” panel discussion, joining Thusen Naidoo of Avante Mazda in Richmond Hill and representatives of Trader.ca, CarPages.ca, Kijiji and Canadian Black Book.

In addition, Stephen Coulman, remarketing sales manager at BMW Financial Services Canada, will join the keynote discussion panel on April 13, “The Strategic Importance of Remarketing & Used Car Markets to the Canadian Automotive Industry.”

Bill Xinaris, national sales director — inventory for DealerTrack will take a place on the panel discussion later the same day titled “Inventory Management — New Techniques and Sound Business Strategies Designed to Increase Pre-Owned Sales.” Xinaris will join Dale Pollak, of vAuto, and Brian Benstock, of Paragon Honda/Paragon Acura for the session.

One other addition to the agenda is a special event that will be held at the Hockey Hall of Fame after the conference reception on April 13. The unique event, sponsored by ADESA, Auto Remarketing, Canadian Black Book, Manheim and OPENLANE, will offer attendees insider access to the Hockey Hall of Fame, including interactive games and skills challenges. Auto Remarketing Canada will be held April 12-14 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto. Early bird registration for the conference is US$795 and is effective through March 21. After that date, the registration fee increases to US$995. The special conference room rate at the Hyatt Regency Toronto is C$169/night and is available until March 28.
