TORONTO -

Based on how the early speaker commitments to the event are shaking out, it appears attendees at this spring’s Auto Remarketing Canada conference will have a wide array of industry perspectives to learn from, as well as a bevy of skills to take back to their respective businesses.

The speakers already on board for the conference — which is being held April 16 through April 18 at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto — include:

—Cathie Clark, general manager, AutoPark SuperStore Burlington.
—Geoff Helby, ALG.
—Paul Potratz, Potratz Advertising.
—Michael Hatch, chief economist, Canadian Automobile Dealers Association.

“We’re very excited to bring these four speakers to Auto Remarketing Canada 2012, and we’re looking forward to many more joining us in the coming weeks,” said conference chair Bill Zadeits. “Each of these speakers offers something unique to share with dealers, remarketers, executives and everyone within the Canadian used-car and remarketing space."

Sharing a bit about each speaker, Zadeits began: “Cathie is an extremely bright marketer and has done wonders with video, digital, social media, etc. at her dealership,” Zadeits added. “Jeff, meanwhile, is a longtime veteran of our conferences from his days at J.D. Power. I’m very excited to bring him aboard again under the ALG banner."

Discussing the other two speakers, he continued: “Paul Potratz offers remarkable insight and invaluable advice, training and best practices. His presentations are a ‘must-see’ for dealers.

“As the CADA’s chief economist, Michael Hatch has his finger to the pulse in the Canadian new- and used-car markets. He will help kick off the event by leading a discussion group of the industry’s best analysts and economists,” Zadeits noted.

Also, Auto Remarketing Canada is encouraging additional Canadian auto industry leaders to sign up as speakers. The Call for Speakers is officially open and will be open through Feb. 10. The event’s education tracks will delve into dealer‐specific interests, remarketer education and legal/compliance issues.
