OAK BROOK, Ill. -

vAuto founder Dale Pollak will be speaking on the company’s new inventory tool Provision at the upcoming National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Las Vegas.

During a series of workshops, Pollak will focus on revealing a new approach to sourcing and selling used vehicle inventory for maximum profitability, officials noted.

Furthermore, Pollak’s presentation will also highlight emerging trends that can potentially pose risks for dealers — margin compression, expense growth, greater consumer interest in transparency and consolidation of dealerships and technology providers.

At the time of the release of the company’s new inventory tool this past November, Auto Remarketing reported that through Provision, vAuto has incorporated the data tools of both AutoTrader.com and Manheim in rolling out a new used-car inventory management tool that can give dealers a more comprehensive way to find the right used cars to stock at the right price.

Provision — the company’s first major product introduction since being bought by AutoTrader last year — blends the resources of AutoTrader and Manheim to help dealers tackle  the three “W’s” of inventory management: What cars should I stock? What I should I pay? Where can I get the car?

“This is a business intelligence break-through for the automotive industry, made possible through our alliance with AutoTrader.com and Manheim,” stated vAuto founder Dale Pollak in November. “Provision brings game-changing insights and tools to help dealers efficiently and effectively know what vehicles to stock, what to pay and where to find them — all with a real-time, precision approach.”

In an effort to further explain the tool and what it can offer dealers, at the NADA conference set for Feb. 3 through 6, Pollak will present his workshop, “Provisioning:  The New Science of Used Vehicle Sales and Stocking,” at the following dates and times:

•    12:15 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, Room N111-112
•    8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, Room N250
•    2:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, Room N113-114
•    8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m., Monday, Feb. 6, Room N119-120

Commenting on the news, Pollak noted, “Our industry is at a critical crossroads.

“The path to dealership prosperity is paved with strong used vehicle departments and a willingness to embrace new technology, tools and processes to meet today’s top challenges — easing the pain of finding and acquiring the right vehicles, staying ahead of the competition and making money in a fast-changing market,” he stressed.

Pollak also provided commentary on the tool itself, explaining, “Provisioning is a cutting-edge approach that establishes a more holistic, market intelligence-driven used vehicle inventory management strategy,” Pollak says. “It also defines the operational processes dealers need to transform sales volume and profitability.

“A dealership’s longevity and prosperity is less assured today than it used to be,” Pollak adds. “At NADA, I will share insights to help dealers plan for and meet these future challenges,” he concluded.
