BOCA RATON, Fla. -

A new financing program has been rolled out in Canada whose creators say can make it easier for expatriates to lease or finance a new or used car in the country.

ExpatRide — a supplier for several North America relocation and destination services companies — has launched a program that offers lease or purchase financing and other services  to individuals or businesses who are newcomers to Canada and don’t have any credit history in the country.

Essentially, the program consists of three main elements. ExpatRide provides:

—Financing for the lease or purchase of the vehicle
—A free personal car shopper service
—Insurance. This gives expats “competitively priced insurance for new or used cars," officials noted.

“ExpatRide’s expat lease car program is tailored to expatriates moving to the Canada interested in car financing in Canada. The expatriate car financing program solves the challenges that many expats daily faces in Canada when it comes to being approved for a car loan or car lease in Canada,” the company explained.

It added that  foreign nationals often have had many challenges securing credit in Canada, particularly after 2008. There is a free publication from the Canadian government called “Understanding Your Credit Report and Credit Score" that sheds more light on these challenges.

“This ‘No Canadian Credit Score Program’ takes into consideration the foreign individual’s historic credit profile from former countries of residents. This is very different from other financial programs in Canada as they generally only gives the person credit for their Canadian assets and credit history,” officials noted.
