BB&T Selects 2011 Auction of the Year
BB&T Corp. revealed its 2011 Auction of the Year on Wednesday along with a pair of other accolades.
Recognized for providing top sales results, sales percentage and expenses relative to liquidation for both BB&T and its affiliate Regional Acceptance, was the 2011 Auction of the Year winner ADESA Lexington.
BB&T asset remarketing manager Neil Boardman noted customer service, facility management and operational effectiveness also are considered for award eligibility requirements.
“ADESA Lexington is a sale that has not only grown for us in the past few years, but has managed to improve performance at each individual sale throughout this growth,” Boardman highlighted
“This is not always an easy thing to manage,” he continued. “Smart growth, not short-term instant success is what we promote to all our auctions. Jason Martin, Vince McNeal and their team have put together a strong combination of exceptional customer service and an understanding for appropriate marketing of our product, which results in great sales every month.”
BB&T uses approximately 25 auctions nationwide to sell repossessed vehicles. The company said ADESA Lexington — which was the runner-up in 2010 for this award — consistently places in the top three positions for several different awards.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized as BB&T’s 2011 Auction of the Year,” stated ADESA Lexington general manager Jason Martin.
“It’s the hard work and dedication of our staff that really sets us apart. On behalf of everyone at ADESA Lexington, thank you,” Martin added.
BB&T also handed out two other recognitions in 2011.
The Most Improved Auction Award was presented to Capital City Auto Auction, the independent operation in St. Albans, W.Va., owned by current National Auto Auction Association president Charlotte Pyle. This honor recognizes the auction that scores above the average in net profitability among all auctions and has the largest net profitability increase on an average basis.
Furthermore, BB&T gave its Auction “Ironman” Award to Manheim Nashville. This award is handed over to the auction that consistently places in the top three positions for all categories each month throughout the year.
