CHICAGO -

Used- and new-vehicle listing site AutoSales.com this week launched what officials are calling their Automotive Research Lab, an outlet that’s geared to generate insights available only on the site’s blog.

Officials explained AutoSales.com’s blog provides buying information directly from people fully immersed in the world of vehicle sales.

“AutoSales.com’s automotive insights are generated based on cutting edge research using numerous automotive and non-automotive data sources including sales forecasts and sales numbers from past and present years,” the site highlighted.

“AutoSales.com’s research will focus on the new- and used-car markets for all foreign and domestic brands and is focused on helping dealers, as well as customers, navigate the complex automotive landscape,” the site went on to mention.

AutoSales.com Research Lab’s initial findings leveraged automotive economic data to create content rich graphical representations of the industry landscape named “On the Road Again.” This graphical analysis reviewed the last 15 years of automotive data to determine the path of economic recovery during the past two years.

As “On the Road Again” highlights, the road to economic recovery continues.

“May has demonstrated this upward trend,” the site emphasized. “GM saw 11-percent increases in May while Ford saw 13 percent, yet both underperformed compared to Toyota’s successful month.

“Selling more than 200,000 vehicles, Toyota has pulled off an impressive rebound in the month of May,” the site continued. “Compared to May 2011, automakers have seen a 25.7-percent increase in auto sales in May 2012 after selling 1.33 million vehicles.

“This comparison is skewed, however, by the vehicle shortages last year following the earthquake in Japan,” AutoSales.com went on to say. “Yet overall, U.S. auto sales are well on their way to a successful turnaround, ultimately creating more jobs and increasing production. Sales are estimated to reach 14.5 million vehicles in the year 2012, and this is the best showing since 2007.”
