ATLANTA -

Ten years ago Manheim reported what it called a first in the remarketing industry when the company launched its Simulcast product line. Now, the anniversary of that launch could win one lucky dealer a Corvette.

To commemorate Simulcast’s 10th anniversary, Manheim is giving away a Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the same model as the first vehicle ever sold on Simulcast. To be eligible, a dealer must purchase a car through Simulcast during the month of July.

Also, each week in July, one random Simulcast user will win an iPad.

According to the company, Simulcast was the first product to offer dealers the ability to virtually attend live auctions across the United States, helping to expand the market from local to national levels by leveraging supply and demand.

“We’d like to thank all of our customers who use Manheim Simulcast and who have made it an industry-leading product for so many years,” said Joe George, senior vice president of product development at Manheim.

“Our customers’ needs inspire our technological innovations and drive us to continually develop solutions like Simulcast that make it easier and easier for them to do business," he continued.

One year after its 2002 launch, Simulcast accounted for less than 1 percent of Manheim’s sales; today, it accounts for roughly 16 percent, the company said.

An average of 13,000 dealerships attend Simulcast sales every week, and within the past twelve months, approximately 36 percent of all Manheim buyers — or 48 percent of buyers who purchased 10 or more vehicles — have used Simulcast, Manheim reports.

During that same period, 40 percent of all dealer sellers and 76 percent of dealer sellers who sold 10 or more cars have used Simulcast, along with many commercial sellers.

To date, Manheim reports that some 4 million cars have been sold through Simulcast, representing total sales of nearly $60 billion.

Since Simulcast’s its release, the product has evolved as new features and capabilities were added in response to market demands and customer needs.

The latest upgrade to the product line is the Simulcast Everywhere, released earlier this year to help enable dealers to sell vehicles directly from their lots rather than physically transporting vehicles to auction.
