SACRAMENTO, Calif. -

There’s good news coming from the lanes at Brasher’s Sacramento Auto Auction. With two exceptions, all segments of the wholesale used-vehicle market are strong in the area.

In making his post-sale report for the July 10 sale at Brasher’s Sacramento, John Brasher noted a “really, really strong” market in almost all segments, including trades, repossessions and rentals.

The exceptions to the good news seem to appear at the far ends of the auto spectrum.

“There are a couple of exceptions,” Brasher conceded. “The really cheap cars, on the really low end, are still a bit soft. There have been a lot of trades generated from good new car sales, so perhaps that has something to do with that.

“And on the other end, really expensive, big full-size SUVs — the Expeditions, the Suburbans, things like that — are still a little bit tough. But the big news is that trucks are back, really strong," he continued.

In other news, the upcoming Tuesday sale will offer T-shirt giveaways that are required attire for the upcoming Corn Roast Sale in order to be eligible for prizes. That sale is set for July 23 and 24, featuring food, prizes, hot rod consignments and more.
