CALGARY, Alberta -

Reporting its latest financial results earlier this week, Alberta-based Quorum Information Technologies said that during the second quarter, the company saw a net loss of $80,000, but pushed the number of active dealerships using its XSELLERATOR product to 263.

Getting into specifics, Quorum reported a net income of $111,000 in the second quarter of 2011, versus the aforementioned loss in the most recent period.

The company explained that the loss in this year’s second quarter stems from its deferred income tax expense of $145,000. A year ago, the company had a deferred income tax recovery of $48,000.

EBITDA totaled $226,000, down from $239,000 a year ago. Gross revenue came in at $1.83 million, essentially static with the year-ago period. There were six XSELLERATOR installations during the period.

The 263 active dealership rooftops for the second quarter compares to 259 in the first quarter and 249 in the second quarter of 2011.

“The company continues to grow our customer base, improve our service offerings and customer satisfaction, and lead the market in product innovation,” said Maury Marks, Quorum’s president and chief executive officer.

“We also continue to deliver solid financial results and improve our cash and working capital positions by producing improved positive cash flow every year,” he added. “Our single biggest challenge in 2012 is to grow our sales and implementation rates to the ‘next level.’ We have already embarked on a number of initiatives that are focused on meeting this challenge.”
